Join the Aronos Research Club every Friday morning for a 20-minute group walk to a different historical site in Sonora, with brief programs revealing local history. Runs September 5–October 31 at Courthouse Square, weather permitting.

Aronos Research Club History Mystery Walk took us to beautiful historic St Anne's Church in Columbia on September 26th. Sandy Tannhauser tells the story of this historic Church. The Aronos Research Club Health and Wellness Committee, inspired by our Blue Zones Project designation, is excited to announce a new Yoga class every Wednesday from 9 to 10 am. Annie leads the session with gentle yoga designed for all ages and levels. We have a wonderful friendly group so come have fun at the Clubhouse.

T’ai Chi Ch’uan classes with Sifu Rono (“The T’ai Chi Guy”) are held at The Aronos Research Club (37 Elkin Street, Sonora, CA) every Wednesday from 10:30–11:30 a.m. Classes are open-ended and suitable for youth, adults, and seniors. For October only, the cost is a sliding scale of $5–$25. Starting in November, students can choose between a drop-in or monthly rate. Participants should wear loose clothing, flat shoes, and bring a smile.

Aronos Research is hosting a Barn Dance on October 18 at 7 PM at 37 Elkin St., Sonora, CA. There will be live music by Contra Band, all dances are taught and called, and everyone is welcome. Suggested donation: $10, with proceeds supporting Aronos Research Club activities.

The 2025 Area B Conference will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Chicken Ranch Casino Resort in Jamestown, CA. Registration is $50 (includes breakfast and lunch, due by September 30). ConAmor Building Bridges and The Aronos Research Club are hosting a community debate on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Aronos Research Club in Sonora, CA. The topic is “There should be limits to the free speech guaranteed by the Constitution.”

Contra Dances have been held at the Aronos Clubhouse in Sonora for over 30 years. Join us every third Saturday from 7–9 PM for an evening of live music, dancing, and community fun. No partner or experience needed — a caller will teach and guide each dance, and the live Contra Band has been playing together for decades.

The Aronos Research Club is creating a special Christmas tree display at Courthouse Square to honor military service members. They are asking community members to submit a photo (no larger than 2.5 inches), along with the name, military branch, and dates of service for themselves or a relative, to be featured on a tree ornament.
